After being pronounced dead and taken to the morgue, Jason Voorhees spontaneously revives, escapes from the hospital, and returns to Crystal Lake to stalk and terrorize a fresh batch of unsuspecting teens!
After two successful and well-received sequels (including the crowd-pleasing Part III in 3D), The Final Chapter brought in Director Joseph Zito, whose terrifying 1981 slasher, The Prowler, proved he was a force to be reckoned with. The series's "final" film also brought back the great Tom Savini to craft the spectacular makeup effects. The result is a film that Kevin Martin (star of NorthwestFEARFest's 2023 closing night film, The Last Video Store, and owner of Edmonton's The Lobby video store) calls the greatest horror sequel ever made. The Final Chapter is also notable for being one of Corey Feldman's first significant film roles.
In 1984, we were all naive enough to think this was the final chapter in Jason's reign of terror. Forty years later, we celebrate The Final Chapter as a bonafide slasher movie classic!
