Postponed - The first wave of 2020 films announced!

UPDATE: Due to recommendations from Alberta Health and the City of Edmonton in regards to the COVID-19 outbreak, we will be postponing this year's edition of the NorthwestFest International Documentary Festival, with a reconfigured festival likely taking place this fall. Oliver Sacks: His Own Life explores the life and work of the legendary neurologist and storyteller, as he shares intimate details of his battles with drug addiction, homophobia, and a medical establishment that accepted his work only decades after the fact.  


MOTHERLOAD | directed by Liz Canning

Motherload is a crowdsourced documentary about a new mom's quest to understand and promote the cargo bike movement in a gas-powered, digital and divided world. 


WHAT SHE SAID: THE ART OF PAULINE KAEL | directed by Rob Garver

A portrait of the work and life of controversial film critic Pauline Kael, and her battle to achieve success and influence in the 20th century movie business.  


SLAY THE DRAGON | directed by Chris Durrance & Barak Goodman
